Music Department

Music is a vibrant part of everyday life at Llandovery College with a mixed choir, a girls choir, a mixed senior choir, a chamber choir and an orchestra. Termly chamber concerts are held as a showcase for the many pupils who play instruments.

The programmes are varied (with soloists and ensembles) and eclectic. There is a full programme of performances ranging from informal concerts and church services to a series of school concerts.

Pupils have the opportunity to learn to play a wide range of musical instruments including woodwind, brass, percussion, strings, voice and piano with tuition provided by qualified peripatetic teachers.

Music Scholarships are available at any age.  Applicants are assessed by the Head of Music.  Scholars will receive a contribution towards school fees and may also receive funds to pay for all or part of their instrumental or voice tuition in school.
