Miss Weavers joined the College in January 2005 after traveling and working all over the world including teaching in Thailand and sheep farming in New Zealand.  After completing her PGCE in Primary Education in Swansea, Miss Weavers became a Gollop Preparatory School teacher and was appointed Housemistress of Tŷ Teilo in September 2006.

The House Team
Whilst genuinely warm pastoral care is provided for the boarding and day girls they are increasingly encouraged to take responsibility for their own lives. The girls benefit from having a range of guiding hands to help them through their years in Tŷ Teilo.

The House
The distinctive feature of Tŷ Teilo is its great feeling of family.  The sixth form girls develop strong bonds with the juniors and House prefects are always available for chats and hugs. 

The house comprises the Years 7 – 9 Gwent Dorm which accommodates 12 girls, the Claggers wing for Sixth Form boarders with two three bed dorms and the Tower where there are two twin rooms and a four bed dorm for Sixth Form and Occasional Boarders.  Sixth Form and Junior girls also have separate areas with their own common room for studying and relaxation.  

The ethos of the house can be recognised through a few words from Teilo boarders…

“Miss Weavers is like a second mother to us girls and looks after us with great care and supports us in many different ways” Year 8

“When I first came to Tŷ Teilo, I was really worried about being away from home and not seeing my parents everyday.  But the girls were just so nice and bubbly, that I felt at home instantly.  Any new girls coming into Tŷ Teilo will definitely feel welcome and will settle quickly” Year 9

Events
The girls are responsible for creating a fantastic atmosphere at Tŷ Teilo. Each year group sets an example for younger girls and everyone seems to have the time to help others with their studies. Their companionship is evident in the evenings as they enjoy DVDs, games, dancing and pamper parties together. Organised events include yoga and aerobics and the girls make sure they put extra effort into special events like birthdays, Christmas and Halloween!
