Middle Year 7 – 11

Although the timetable differs slightly according to each Year Group and day of the week, all students in the Middle School have a full and active day which includes academic, pastoral and extra curricular activities.  Wednesday afternoons are dedicated to sport with students representing College to compete against local and national teams in a variety of disciplines. Examples of typical school days for both Day and Boarding students are shown below:

Year 10 day student


0820          
 
Arrive at College via the College Day Bus Service; 
0830 Register with Tutor;
0835 Attend either Chapel, House Meeting or Assembly (differs daily);
0900  Attend lessons;
1020
Break time.  Drinks and snacks available in the Great Hall or may be purchased from the School Shop;
1035 Lessons resume;
1235 - 1330 Lunch in the Great Hall followed by free time;
1330 Lessons resume;
1530 Break.  Drinks and snacks served in the Great Hall;
1545 - 1715 Extra Curricular Activities including a variety of different daily activities from Combined Cadet Force to archery and badminton in the Sports Hall;
1720 Checking to ensure Prep is safely packed in his/her bag for revision that evening, our student boards the day bus home.

Year 8 Boarding student

0715              Woken by Housemaster;
0800 With the assistance of his Housemaster our student makes his way to the Great Hall for Breakfast;
0830 Registers with house tutor and follows the same daily pattern as Day student until 1720 when he returns to the boarding house;
1730 Roll Call;
1745 Supper in the Great Hall;
1830 – 1930 Supervised Prep in the new teaching centre.  Our boarding student enjoys  the benefit of having teachers on hand to assist with his studies;
1930 – 2100 Free time.  Nightly activities include various events and quiet time. Depending on the day our boarder could enjoy an evening disco, pancake making, television or board games with his Housemaster;
2115 Bed;
2145 Lights out on another full day.

On Saturdays both day and boarding students will follow the above timetable until lessons will end at 12.10.  Both will then enjoy lunch before our day student departs on the school bus and our boarder returns to his Boarding house to enjoy the weekend activity programme.  Both will also spend one hour with their respective Tutor on Saturday mornings which gives them an opportunity to raise any concerns they have with Pastoral or Academic issues.
