![]() Introduction
Leavers’ Assembly is a day in our calendar that we all look forward to because we celebrate the year that has passed and pupils are awarded with prizes that they have earned, and of course we say goodbye to our year 6 pupils. The day is also a sad one as we often say goodbye to friends that will leave the school, and this year we had to say goodbye to Mrs Meadows and of course Mrs Pemble who I have known since I was 4 years old. The assembly is also when the Year 6 Head will announce who will take over from him or her. This last year we had a fantastic Head boy called Ethan Thomas. He made an excellent Head Boy because he was kind and caring and always spoke well when he was asked to. Most of all he was proud to be a pupil and this came across in everything he did. As this year’s Leavers’ assembly came to an end I remember thinking that the year had gone by so quickly and so much had gone on at school, Mrs Dewland had left us to go and live in Manchester, We were about to have a new Warden and we celebrated our 10th Anniversary. When Ethan was called up to announce the next Head I had no idea whose name he was going to announce. When I heard him say my name I could hardly believe my ears. I was so very shocked but so incredibly proud that I could be awarded such an amazing honour. As I enter into my final year at prep school, I know that I must work hard to achieve all that lies ahead of me and to make good use of all that my teachers have taught me over the years that I have been here. This is not just about the lessons we have had in maths and English etc but also about being kind, thoughtful, caring, helpful, generous and to be comfortable and confident in all that I do. I hope that I can make Mr Thomas and the staff, Mr Ayling and my fellow pupils proud of me over the coming year and ensure that I am a worthy Head Girl. Lydia - Year 6. The Gollop Prayer
Thank you for our great holidays and for all the fun we have enjoyed over the summer. Thank you also for allowing us to meet back with our old friends and for the excitement of making new friends with all the new pupils and getting to know our new teachers. We pray for all our friends and teachers who have left Llandovery and ask that you keep them safe and happy. We give thanks to all the parents, teachers, staff and adults who have worked so very hard over the summer to ensure the future of our school. Please give them the strength to continue to help. Please God, help us all to work hard, to be polite, helpful, kind and supportive and to be the best Gollop pupils that we can. Thank you Lord Amen. Lydia - Year 6.
