The majority of our intake comes in Years 7, 9 and 12, however should a space become available Llandovery College is able to accept pupils from the waiting list throughout the year into most age groups as long as this doesn't compromise their educational progress. It is only in exceptional circumstances therefore that we accept students in Year 11 or 13.

Admissions policy varies according your child's age:

• Our next OPEN DAY is Saturday, November 6th, 2010
• For Gollop Prep school entry, your child joins us for half a day to assess their progress in the classroom. They take standard tests to determine their level in a non-pressurised environment. This is not an entrance exam, more a chance to get to know the school and their peer group. Most children are unaware that they are being assessed.
• Year 7-10s take our Entrance Examination and are interviewed by a senior member of staff either on a College test date or at a time to suit you.
• If you are outside the UK this exam can be invigilated by a local agent.
• The exam consists of 3 x 45 mins papers in English, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
• Entrance into the Sixth Form requires a minimum of 6 GCSEs at Grade C or above.
• We may request an interview, references, school & psychologists reports to support your application.
• International students are often asked to interview with a local agent and submit a letter in English in order to assess the level of E.S.L. support they may require.

Once your child has sat the examination and/or submitted the required documentation you will receive the outcome of the application within 10 working days. If an offer is made to you, it will be done in writing and will contain an acceptance form. Completion of this form and payment of the acceptance deposit secures a place for your child.
