On arrival at Llandovery College, pupils are allocated to one of three vertical houses (Glyndwr, Gruffydd and Llewelyn) with other pupils from pre-prep to year 13.  Over the course of the school year, various House competitions are held, from the Eisteddfod to Sports Day and from Geography to Welsh.  One recent competion was to decorate a sheep for the annual Llandovery Sheep Festival!

The main house event for the Lent Term will be the College Eisteddfod with the stage competitions being held on March 1st.

Just a reminder - only 3 people are allowed from each house to take part in the various prelims .

Every person who takes part either in the Stage or written competitions will be given a point for their house. The scoring is as follows:
1st - 10 points         2nd – 8 points           3rd – 6 points

The Welsh recitation pieces can be picked up from the Welsh Department or a file in the Library, from Monday 23rd January.

All the dates for the prelims are in the Almanac, and all Subject and Stage competitions will be put on the House Board

The Welsh Department will go over the Welsh words for “Cwm Rhondda” in lessons and in House Meetings.
