Prep School Exeat Concert
Once again our concert started with a bang! The drum performance set the tone for the afternoon. The wealth of talent which exists in the Prep School was seen in the varied and high standard of performances produced by our pupils. The children gain hugely from their experiences in concerts such as these. The Exeat concert has a dual purpose for us at the Prep; it serves as a fantastic opportunity for the Prep pupils to gain performing experience which is a vital part of learning an instrument, singing or dancing. It is also a great chance for you as parents to see the musical wealth we have at the Prep and to see your children develop.
During the concert we had a wide selection of soloists, from the beginners to the more advanced, singing and performing on the violin, harp, clarinet, piano, flute, drums and the guitar. The Urdd Singing group performed ‘Enfys Ebrill’ (a song about the rainbow) and the Urdd reciting group reciting ‘Amser Bwyd’ (meal time). For a complete contrast, the Prep school Zumba group performed three sets of dance under the guidance of Mrs Sue White. These items exploded with energy bringing a smile to everybody's face! Thank you Mrs White for all your hard work and enthusiasm!
Congratulations to all pupils who took part in this concert. We are very proud of you! Continue to work hard with your peripatetic tutors who will in turn liaise with Mrs Price in the run up to the next event. Thank you to all the peripatetic tutors for their high standard of teaching, for helping our pupils develop musically and for preparing our pupils so well for exams and concerts such as this. We appreciate their continued support. A special thank you to Cheryl Davies for always being on hand and always willing to give up her time to accompany our pupils on the piano. Thank you to you as parents for your support and for being such a great audience! Thank you also to all the Prep staff involved to secure a smooth and successful concert.
Everyone should have received a Scholastic Book Club catalogue along with their World Book Day voucher. We have had very few orders so far so have extended the deadline until next Friday 22nd March. Please support us by ordering books, they are mostly reduced prices and the school gets 20% commission to spend with Scholastic. Cheques should be made payable to Coleg Llanymddfri Cymru and orders returned to Miss Wilson. Book should be in school after the Easter break. Thank you for your support.
