Success at the County Urdd Eisteddfod

Well done to all the pupils who competed recently at the County Urdd Eisteddfod. Impressive performances ensured outstanding results with pupils securing seven firsts, two second and two third positions as detailed below:

1^st – Piano Solo Year 10 and under 19 years old category

1^st – Reciting Group Year 6 and under

1^st – Singing Group Year 6 and under

1^st – Harp Solo Years 7-9

1^st – Boys Singing Solo Years 7-9

1^st – Folk Song Year 6 and under

1^st – Singing Solo Years 5 and 6

2^nd – Instrumental Ensemble

2^nd – Reciting Group Years 7-9

3^rd – Solo Recitation Years 7-9

3^rd – Cerdd Dant Solo Years 5 and 6

In addition to those who came first in their competitions, the Instrumental Ensemble also qualified to compete in the national event.

No less than 17 pupils will go forward to represent Carmarthenshire at the National Eisteddfod Yr Urdd in Cardiff and the Vale in May. Congratulations to Catrin, Iwan, Tanya, Ruby, Megan, Yasmin, Luca, Morgan, Anna, Daniel, George and Lylah (Years 5 and 6), Tomos and Alaw (Year 7) and senior pupils Simon, Harry and Sam.
