Glittering Sports Awards Evening

The Senior School Sports Awards Evening is one of the most anticipated and well attended events of the school calendar and this year was no exception.
The evening was an opportunity for pupils, families and staff to come together and celebrate the many sporting achievements and successes of pupils throughout the year.

It was an honour and privilege to welcome Mr Eddie Butler as guest of honour. Mr Butler, a journalist, sports commentator and former Welsh international rugby player presented the awards and gave a poignant and inspirational closing speech. The College is very grateful to him for giving so generously of his time.

Speeches by the current exceptional team captains were equally moving and inspirational; Griffydd (Rugby 1st XV), Charlotte and Katie (Hockey 1st XI Co-Captains) and Moya (Netball 1st VII).

Many congratulations to all the winners for their well-deserved success. Clare Flowers, Head of Sport added: “It is also important to acknowledge the pupils who did not receive awards this year. Every pupil in every team contributes greatly to sport at the College and the dedication and contribution shown by our pupils is truly remarkable.”

Pupils and staff are now eagerly anticipating the sporting year ahead.
