Open Day

Due to popular demand we are opening our doors to families who are interested in finding out more about all that Llandovery College has to offer.

Our Open Days offer families the chance to speak with the Warden, staff and students, tour the College and see at first hand the difference a Llandovery College education can make. We are proud of our academic success with small class sizes, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers and excellent facilities. We offer a wide range of sports, including an exceptional rugby programme along with extensive co-curricular activities and clubs.

Llandovery College fully reopens to all students in September

At Llandovery College we had a full reopening of the school in September. Students were warmly welcomed back to school where their full timetable has been delivered by their specialist subject teachers. Pupils are protected in year group hubs within designated classrooms and, in small class sizes, they have enjoyed their full timetable of lessons in a safe and socially distanced environment.
When Government guidelines require the school to close we are able to immediately provide a full timetable to students via Zoom. All students have access to their classes delivered by their subject teachers and are able to interact and ask questions via the Zoom platform.

The College is set in rural Carmarthenshire and our extensive grounds and campus ensures every year group hub has a dedicated, secure and large outdoor space providing students with the space to relax and enjoy their time with school friends. A busy and varied programme of co-curricular activities further enhances our students’ health and wellbeing.

The safety and wellbeing of all students, staff and visitors is the College’s main priority and to adhere to Coronavirus guidelines, much detailed planning and preparation has gone into all aspects of daily school life including; temperature scanners, handwashing stations, social distancing measures, one way systems, staggered meal times and breaks, hard surface cleaning during the day, reduction in boarding house beds, new traffic management plan and the on-site Medical Centre open 24 hours a day.

Llandovery College has something to offer every child from the age of 4 to 18 years old including:

  • Extensive literacy and numeracy programme delivered throughout the Prep School in a kind and caring environment.
  • Comprehensive Middle Years Programme for Years 7 and 8 offering nurturing pastoral care, holistic education, small class sizes and high quality subject specialist teaching.
  • Three year GCSE programme starting in Year 9 with small class sizes and individual attention from specialist subject teachers.
  • Exciting Sixth Form programme offering both A Levels and BTEC subjects taught in small class sizes, dedicated support for entry into university and a wide range of leadership opportunities and responsibilities.
  • New rugby partnership with the Scarlets headed up by former Scarlets forwards coach, Ioan Cunningham, working with the College’s Head of Rugby on an elite programme for boys and girls.
