Prep School Music Showcase

Friday 16th November marked the celebration of the musical talents of Prep School pupils in the stunning setting of the College Library and in front of parents, family and friends. This termly event enables Music Department staff to showcase what pupils have been working on and their progress in both singing and instrument playing

Guided by Mrs Morgan, our very young violinists opened the programme with examples of their bowing, plucking and singing. This was followed by performances by the older pianists, vocalists and a demonstration of street dance choreographed by Mrs White.

Mrs Couch played duets with several pupils and Miss Hammacott supervised the vocal items culminating in Mozart’s Ave Verum and a rousing chorus of Consider Yourself from Oliver.

The varied and versatile programme was accompanied by the College’s Director of Music, Mr James Williams and all pupils gave a first class performance evidenced by the enthusiastic and at times dynamic reaction of the audience. An excellent afternoon enjoyed by all!
