Llandovery Prep School pupils thoroughly enjoy the outdoor activities afforded in Forest School conveniently located within the school grounds.
The children have recently been learning about keeping healthy and about their bodies, specifically about human bones. They have been studying pictures of skeletons and learning the names of some of the main bones such as scapula, pelvis, femur and rib cage.
Reinforcing what they had learnt in the classroom, pupils were excited to create their very own woodland ‘skeletons’. The children collected sticks of the correct size to make skeletons with as many of the 206 bones as they could, showing particular creativity when it came to constructing the skull! Much fun was had by all and the pupils were very proud of their fantastic creations and in being able to name some of the bones in their ‘skeletons.’
