The years when a child decides who they are. We make sure nobody else decides it for them.

A bespoke education

Taught by name, not by row.

Our classes are small on purpose. Small enough for a teacher to know exactly where each pupil is in every topic; small enough that no one can coast unseen at the back; small enough that the curriculum bends around the child, not the child around the curriculum.

Pupils study across Humanities, STEM, Languages and the Performing Arts, with Welsh in the curriculum and a Learning Support faculty that treats different minds as different, not deficient. We welcome children with ALN and mean it.

  • A bespoke academic pathway - subjects, support and stretch fitted to each pupil, reviewed constantly, not annually.
  • Results without selection - in 2026, 83% of GCSE grades at A*-C from a fully non-selective intake, every grade a pass, and 89% of all grades at or above the pupil's own CAT prediction - with pupils at the top taking eight A*s.
  • The Saturday enrichment programme - because curiosity doesn't keep office hours.

Belonging

A House for every child, a place for every kind of child.

Every pupil - day or boarding - belongs to a House in our vertical system, with houseparents and a tutor team who follow them from 11 to 18. Years mix; older pupils mentor younger ones; loyalty gets loud on sports day and Eisteddfod day.

The whole College eats together in the Great Hall beneath the portraits - teachers and pupils at the same tables, food from local farms, conversation compulsory, phones not invited.

Boarding is available full, weekly or for the occasional night when life demands it - in houses that feel like homes because they're run by people who make them so.

Beyond the classroom

The co-curriculum is where children find what they're for.

A school this size needs everyone - so everyone gets a go, and nobody warms a bench for five years.

Netball, judo, golf on our own nine-hole course, shooting, cricket, football; choirs with a national reputation (Barcelona Cathedral, since you ask); LAMDA; a Performing Arts Academy; and yes - an Elite Rugby Programme for those with three feathers in their dreams, in partnership with the Scarlets, Ospreys, Dragons and Cardiff Rugby.
