College Choir takes on the world beneath Gaia

Choral music and a 45-minute organ recital, beneath a six-metre Earth.

The College Chamber Choir and Organ Scholar, Year 10 pupil Gareth, had the wonderful opportunity to perform at St Mary's Church, Swansea, beneath Gaia, the spectacular artwork by acclaimed artist Luke Jerram.

This awe-inspiring six-metre installation uses detailed NASA imagery to create a breathtaking representation of Earth, offering a truly unique and inspiring setting for musical performance.

The Chamber Choir performed a selection of traditional choral works for members of the local congregation and visitors, filling the church with music beneath the striking installation.

Gareth was also afforded the opportunity to perform a 45-minute organ recital on the magnificent Minster organ. His programme featured a number of well-known works, alongside one of his own compositions, providing an opportunity to showcase both his impressive musical talent and creativity to a wider audience.

Both the Choir and Gareth received warm praise and enthusiastic applause from those in attendance, with many commending the quality of the performances.

It was a memorable experience for our pupils and musicians, who were delighted to perform in such an inspiring venue and alongside one of the most captivating artworks currently on display in Wales. The occasion was a wonderful celebration of music, creativity, and the arts, and we are immensely proud of all those involved.
