College music showcased at community charity event

The only school-aged performer of the evening, representing herself and the College with great distinction.

Congratulations to Year 10 pupil Elena, who proudly represented Llandovery College playing the violin at Blodau a Chân (Flowers & Song), a community charity event held at Llanwrda Village Hall on Friday, 9th October.

Elena was the only school-aged performer taking part in the evening, representing both herself and the College with great distinction.

The event featured a number of renowned performers and speakers, including Nia Tyler, an S4C Y Llais semi-finalist, and Sue Thomas, a Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winner, who attended as the guest speaker. The evening was presided over by Mrs Helen Jones of Castell Howell and raised funds in support of St Cwrdaf's Church, Llanwrda.

Since the event, we have received a number of complimentary messages from audience members praising Elena's performance and commending her confidence, musicianship, and stage presence. We are delighted that her talent was so warmly received by those in attendance.

We congratulate Elena on her outstanding contribution to the evening and thank the organisers of Blodau a Chân for providing such a memorable opportunity to support a worthy cause while celebrating music, community, and Welsh culture.

Our sincere thanks go to local photographer, Mark Revitt, for kindly giving us permission to use these official photographs.
